Open House 2018

Daily attendance is important for our students to continue to learn new standards.  Please try to make doctor/dentist appointments after school.  If for any reason your child is absent, please send a note when your child returns or you may contact the office

Free Breakfast

Breakfast will be served daily in the cafeteria between 7:30 and 7:45 AM. If you wish to eat breakfast, you must be in line by 7:45 AM.

Tdap booster requirements

California Law (AB354) requires ALL students entering 7th grade to provide the school with proof of a Tdap (Pertussis-whooping cough) booster shot before starting school!

Getting a booster shot now will protect your child against the ongoing threat of pertussis and meet a school requirement.

  • If your child has already received the Tdap booster, please bring your child’s immunization (shot) record as proof to your child’s school.
  • If your child has not received a booster shot, please obtain it immediately.
  • Proof must be submitted before the 1st day of school or the student will not be allowed to attend school. No Shot/No Schedule/No School.

Please keep in mind our first day of school is August 6, 2014.

Student Uniforms

Our uniform colors are navy blue pants/shorts and white, light blue or dark blue polo shirts.  Students may wear college shirts on Thursdays  and we encourage students to wear Nelson Spirit shirts on Fridays.   From time to time the school will host special attire days (career day, team day, twin day, ect..) these special attire days still require students to meet our district dress code policy as outlined in the HLPUSD Dress code policy.  The district dress code policy can be found in the parent district policy handbook, in addition to your child's agenda.
